Wall Street Bank Backs Residential Solar Fund

The burgeoning US market for leased residential solar systems got some extra help on Thursday with the launch of a new fund to increase financing options for solar installers and their customers.

The fund, named MySolar, was created by Clean Power Finance, an online marketplace for solar financing; MS Solar Solutions Corp, a unit of the investment bank Morgan Stanley, and Main Street Power Company, a developer of solar systems and provider of power-purchase agreements.

) reported better-than expected first-quarter 2012 financial
results yesterday, with a record high quarterly revenue. The Board
of Directors of j2 Global has raised its quarterly dividend by 2.4%
from 21 cents per share to 21.5 cents per share. This is the
companys third consecutive quarterly dividend increase.

Quarterly GAAP net income came in at $28.5 million or 61 cents
per share compared with $30.9 million or 66 cents per share in the
year-ago quarter. First-quarter earnings per share of 61 cents were
well above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 57 cents. Total revenue
was approximately $86.7 million, up 18.1%...

Average cost to own and operate a car in US increases

OGDEN — Gas prices are higher than they were a year ago, thats for certain. But fuel isnt the only reason driving in 2012 is so expensive.

Overall, the annual average cost to own and operate a medium-sized sedan in the United States rose 1.9 percent, according to AAAs 2012 Your Driving Costs study.

The average cost to drive a medium-sized sedan is now 59.6 cents per mile, which represents a 1.1 cent per mile increase from 2011.

That number might not seem like a lot at first glance, said AAA Utah spokeswoman Rolayne Fairclough, but over the course of an entire year of driving, which is 15,000 miles for the typical motorist, the costs add up fast.
